BALIHT EXHIBITED AT THE BATTERY INNOVATION DAYS

The first edition of the Battery Innovation Days (BID) took place on 23-24-25 November 2021, during which BALIHT was invited to hold a virtual stand to present its project.

The Battery Innovation Days intended to provide information on the latest developments within the European R&I domain. More than 20 sessions were held during the 3-day event, which was opened by the European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič. The sessions aimed at presenting the current European R&I landscape for batteries and discussing the challenges ahead for the European Battery Value Chain. Topics such as the circularity of the value chain, research priorities, batteries safety, digitalisation and smart batteries or manufacturing activities and skills needs were tackled along these 3 days.

Another key-aspect of the event was the organisation of a virtual exhibition, granting BID attendees the opportunity to reach out and network with valued industry partners and R&I projects, whose proposed innovations are seen as critical to the successful growth of the European battery value chain. The organisation committee of BID invited BALIHT to exhibit at the Battery Innovation Days online event. FLORES – the Network of Flow Battery Research Initiatives whose BALIHT is an active member – was also represented with their own stand at the Expo.

Around 60 different attendees came to visit our virtual booth. We want to thank very much BID organisers for this opportunity and congratulate them for the success of this 3-day event!

Earlier in November, BALIHT also participated to the H2020 Batteries projects clustering event organised by the European Commission. Our coordinator AIMPLAS presented the project, and the University of Leiden participated in a group session on batteries recycling, sustainability and LCA. You can find below the slideshow used by AIMPLAS during the meeting.
